Abstract

Maulana Shibli Nomani is commonly known as a sensual poet in ‎Urdu literature. He is aptly called a versatile literary and scholarly ‎figure. His scholarly ambition expressed through orientalism as well ‎as criticism, research, poetry, and history. SHERULAJAM is his ‎literary masterpiece. In this book, he has explored, ‎comprehensively the history of Persian Literature in 5 volumes .It ‎received laud across the world. It got printed, more than once, ‎from Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia simultaneously. Hafiz Sherani ‎wrote a critique on sherulajam. This article explores the nature and ‎chemistry of this critique as per the principles of modern criticism.
