Abstract

Malala Yousafzai’s autobiography I Am Malala is regarded as a significant political, social, and intellectual document of the contemporary age in which personal experiences transform into collective consciousness. This autobiography is not merely the story of a young girl’s struggle for education; rather, it symbolizes resistance against extremism, patriarchy, religious radicalism, and socio-political crises in the Subcontinent, particularly in Pakistan. Through her memories, Malala portrays the Talibanization of Swat, the ban on girls’ education, and the atmosphere of fear and oppression in such a powerful manner that individual suffering evolves into collective political awareness. The book presents education not only as a means of learning but also as a pathway to freedom, democracy, human rights, and women’s empowerment. Malala’s struggle demonstrates that women’s autobiographies are not simply narratives of personal lives; they are also effective mediums of political resistance, social awakening, and intellectual formation. I Am Malala is an autobiography that transforms a woman’s voice into a part of global human consciousness and inspires future generations with the courage to question, resist, and bring about change.
