Abstract
This article presents a critical analysis of Najma Iftikhar Raja’s travel writing from stylistic, intellectual, and feminist perspectives. Her travelogues represent a distinct feminine viewpoint within the tradition of Urdu travel literature, shaped through the interplay of personal observation, domestic experience, and social consciousness. Focusing on Meray Bhi Safarnamay and Sayonara, the study demonstrates that the author consciously avoids the ostentatious display of knowledge and intellect, instead privileging simplicity, authenticity of observation, and direct narration of lived experience. Her writing integrates feminine sensitivity, awareness of familial relationships, and the minutiae of everyday life with the broader discourse of travel. The article concludes that Najma Iftikhar Raja’s travel writing significantly expands the intellectual and stylistic possibilities of feminist travel literature in Urdu.
