Abstract

Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum (1853–1930) was a prominent writer and feminist activists of the colonial era. She is considered to be the fourth-most successful woman ruler of Bhopal state. She established many institutions for the welfare and development of her state as well as for the welfare of women. Nawab Sultan Jahan was very fond of writing and compiling. She was the most prolific Indian woman and became the first woman chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University. Nawab Begum was awarded many honors by the British Empire for her services. She had good relations with the British Empire. Which benefited the state of Bhopal. In this research paper, Nawab Sultan Begum’s travel book “Safar-e-Kishwar-e-Hijaz” has been studied.
