Abstract

Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali poet who belonged to Hindu religion, had a book based on spiritual songs published by London Society, titled Song Offerings ( Geetanjali). Tagore's emotionality, simplicity and deep spirituality deeply impressed the Europeans who were tired of materialism. Tagore was awarded the highest Nobel Prize of Literature due to this book which has been the first prize given to an eastern personality. The main attraction of Geetanjali is spirituality due to which it got fame worldwide and has been translated in many languages of the world.
