Abstract

Arundhati Roy is famous Indian author and political activist. She got popularity by her first novel” The God of small things” which was published in 1997. In 1998 it won Man Booker Prize, a prestigious British award given annually to a full length novel. Her second novel “The ministry of Utmost Happiness” is published in 2017 which is the story of Anjum, a eunuch living in graveyard of Dehli. Through this character, she depicted the contemporary history of India. In this article humble effort is made to point out the important and historic events, mentioned in this specific novel.
