Abstract
Sahir Shafiq is a renowned poet known for writing cross poems using innovative styles and techniques. His poetry engages with themes of resistance, protest, and counter-narratives against political imbalance, religious intolerance, social alienation, erosion of social values, existential anxiety, and cultural decay. Through the effective use of similes, abstract imagery, and distinctive poetic strategies, he critically observes social maladies, including terrorism as a consequence of dictatorship and authoritarian structures. In his poems, Sahir Shafiq consistently raises his voice in favour of freedom, human dignity, and harmony with nature, reflecting a deeply humanistic vision. In recent years, his poetry has made a significant impact on Pakistani society by resonating with contemporary social consciousness and intellectual discourse.
