Abstract
Postcolonial study examines the cultural, social, and psychological effects imposed by colonial systems on subjugated nations. In this context, Aziz Ahmad’s novel “Asi Bulandi Asi Pasti” highlights the moral, social, and cultural decline of the elite and middle classes influenced by colonial civilization. The title of the novel symbolizes the contradiction between outward grandeur and inner degradation. Through blind imitation of Western culture, luxury, marital hypocrisy, sexual promiscuity, and class arrogance, the novelist demonstrates that the colonial system produced a class that appeared refined and civilized outwardly but was inwardly hollow, insensitive, and alienated from its own culture.
