Abstract
Tahira Iqbal’s novel Neeli Bar offers a profound exploration of the Rachnavi culture, intertwining its historical, cultural, and sociological elements within a narrative framework. The novel vividly portrays the unique traditions, customs, and daily life of the region’s people, emphasizing their resilience and cultural richness. Tahira Iqbal’s literary prowess is evident as she delves into the dynamics of feudalism, rural struggles, and the marginalized communities' challenges in Central Punjab. By weaving cultural elements like folk songs, local crafts, and rituals into the storyline, the author creates a vibrant tapestry of Rachnavi life.
