Abstract
Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is a major figure in contemporary Urdu literature. A famous poet, journalist, literary critic, dramatist and short story (Afsana) author. He edited several prominent literary journals, including Phool, Tehzeeb e naswaan, Adab e Lateef, savera, naqoosh and his own journal Funoon Qasmi’s stories are steeped in social awareness, societal conflicts, class struggle, the human condition, and the dark side of progress. He highlights different social evils of his time as well as of modern era in his short stories in a different way. His fiction is full of variety, breadth and variety of themes. He was a philanthropist and a believer in human dignity. The most oppressed and miserable class among them is women, who is being exploited by various tricks and excuses. He conveys the message of tolerance, equality, and human dignity. bring peace and stability in the world. Through his fiction, the reader not only meets the people of society but also gets acquainted with the gender conflict arising out of the problems associated with them. The phenomena of God’s duties upon man and human rights are presented in his short stories. The rights of parents, children, neighbours, and women, along with social rights and interreligious harmony, seem to be one of the major subjects of his fiction.
