Abstract

Like other Geners of Urdu literature review writing has also been introduced by Sir Sayyed. It has been given a significant position in the literature, in Hindustan. A considerable effort has also been seen to be put in, to make all of its features clear. Regarding this geners extensive debates exist. Starting from Sir Sayyeds Era up to the era Shams Ur Rehman Farooqi. Contrary to it, Maulvi Abdul Haq is the only one in Pakistan to recognize the importance of Urdu Review writing but in Pakistan it has not been given the due appreciation which it deserved. Muhammad Khalid Akhtar is one of the few people to put in serious efforts to established importance of this geners back in 60s and 70s. The bench mark He set for review writing in Urdu literature is truly an eye catcher.
