Abstract
The establishment and stability of the colonial system in India was not possible by mere political and military power. It was made possible through a long-term cultural and psychological planning. This plan consisted of many tricks, tactics, and policies. In the process, colonizers came across the power of narrative as a treasure. Colonizers used this power of narrative for mental conversion and transformation of the colonized people. Hali has compiled all the narratives of the colonists, which were not visible to the common people of India in his poem titled "Zamzama Qaisari". Although this poem is a verse translation of an English poem, Hali translated this poem just for the purpose of making narratives of colonial masters, understandable to common people. This translation reflects both foresight and courage of Khawaja Altaf Hussain Hali.
