The tendency of psychological criticism in Urdu criticism has been among the critics of “HALQA ARBAB ZAOQ”. Riaz Ahmad is the second biggest psychological critic after Meera ji. Psychological Criticism is a psychological analysis of the effects of creation on the author, the characters, and the reader. Riaz Ahmad presented theoretical and practical critiques in the light of the psychological theories of Freud, Young and Adler. He made Urdu poetry part of a more practical critique.
